A Wolf Kid

A Wolf Kid

July 2020 A practice of character design which is a kid with the wold ears. As he is still a kid, he's excited when seeing a butterfly.

Fox Smoke Bomb

Fox Smoke Bomb

June 2020 A random practice of character design of a fox which threw a smoke bomb.

A Colourful Cat

A Colourful Cat

June 2019 When we were young, we may fill the colour of different objects randomly. As we grow up, we may fill the objects with ‘default’ colours. I found that we are growing up with declining creativity. Therefore, I would like to draw a colourful cat to set those limitations free again.

A Baby Raccoon

A Baby Raccoon

September 2018 The paper looks shiny in a dark place. It seems that with paper and colour pencils, we can find magic. At the same time, the little raccoon holds its hands firmly on the paper. The message behind this illustration is that doing art/ design is the only thing glowing in my heart, like how it is in my heart when I was young, even after I have grown up. Most importantly, I am not going to give up no matter what.

The Dreaming Cat

The Dreaming Cat

August 2018 This is a story about a dreaming cat. People usually dream at night and this cat is also “dreaming” at night. The cat looks small when compared with the shiny moon. The message that I would like to bring out is “To the world, we are tiny, yet, we dream big”.

January 2017 Nishikigoi attracts me because they are of similar colour but with different pattern distributions making each of them looks a bit different, for example, they may both have an orange body but different fin colours. They have inspired me that though different people may look a bit different, all of us are of the same species called “homo sapiens”. Furthermore, at the species level, we all look alike but each of us can live a different life as we wish to accomplish different goals.

A Wallpaper for iPhone6 Plus

A Wallpaper for iPhone6 Plus

May 2017 I have designed this wallpaper for my own use with the self-encouraging line “Just walk and you will be there” to tell myself to keep drawing and design. I believe one day my dream will come true. I use the footprint to represent the steps in the past. I made this wallpaper for my boyfriend and I. He likes goats and I like cats so these two types of animals were used in the wallpaper.

The Coral Fish

The Coral Fish

October 2017 The coral fish are lucky that they are born to live in a “colourful world” (the coral reef) and do whatever they like. Bright and different colours are used to present the joyful feeling. It is also my dream to do what I enjoy as my career and contributes to building a colourful world for society.

An Eagle

An Eagle

2017 I enjoyed drawing this with at least 3 types of different textures on this animal. The soft feathers over its head, the hard beak with light and dark patterns on it and the ‘skin-like’ region below its eye with long distinct hairs.

A Dog

A Dog

2015 I used 2 media when drawing the dog. I used a black crayon to colour the light and shadow as well as presenting the furry texture of the dog. A cutter was used to pick the vibrissa of it. Finally, coloured pencils were used to deal with the fine details in the dog’s eyes.

Pomegranate

Pomegranate

2017 It is quite challenging and time-consuming to present the light and shadows of the seeds. The light source was from the top and it was put on a white paper and thus there was a strong reflection at the bottom of each seed.

An Orange

An Orange

2017 Dark spots were added to show the pits on the orange surface. Usually, near the pits, there were also highlights. For the cross-section, the fruit was juicy with water. With respect to this, highlights were added to show the watery texture of the pulp.

An avocado

A Bird

A Bird

It was a colorful tiny bird standing on a tree branch with mosses growing on it. The head and the body of it was covered with fluffy feathers while the wings consisted of larger feathers for flying. It has a little sharp beak in black color.

Compression

Compression

It is an illustration of a circular yellow sponge being pressed a little bit with the index finger and thumb of my left hand in order to show the concept of‘compression’.
